Based on a true story about a Liberal Texas congressman with vices, Charlie Wilson's War tells of a little-known history about Americans indirectly fighting Communist Russians in the Soviet-Afghan War during the 1980s.
Written by Aaron Sorkin (A Few Good Men, The Social Network) and directed by Mike Nichols (The Graduate), Charlie Wilson's War is ultimately about unsung heroes who normally wouldn't like each other coming together to fight a common enemy. And at the center of it all was Charlie Wilson. He wasn't perfect, but he was one U.S. Congressman you could really stand behind.
