Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody

Through his work at CBS/Columbia Records and at Arista Records, which he founded, Clive Davis discovered many of my favorite artists, including Billy Joel, Barry Manilow, Bruce Springsteen, Santana, and Aerosmith. But perhaps his best-known discovery was Whitney Houston.

While Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody is a biopic about the legendary singer from New Jersey, Clive Davis, played by Stanley Tucci, has a lot of screen time in the film, and rightfully so. He not only launched Whitney Houston's successful career, but he was also her mentor and instrumental in making her one of the greatest entertainers of all time. And there was one surprising fact about him I didn't know before.

Clive Davis should have his own biopic. For now, Whitney Houston: I Wanna Dance with Somebody, which he also produced, shows how both Whitney Houston and Clive Davis' contributions to the music industry cannot be understated.

Whitney Houston and Clive Davis were true GOATs. May they rest in peace.
