As someone who lived in New Orleans for many years, I always appreciate when films capture the uniqueness and charm of the South, like in The Apostle, Runaway Jury, and Fast Charlie.
Fast Charlie is about a hit man in the South who falls victim to betrayal. It may sound like your average ultra-violent, gangster action flick, but the movie is a bit of comedy.
Starring Pierce Brosnan and Morena Baccarin, the story of Fast Charlie starts in Biloxi, Mississippi, then moves to New Orleans, Louisiana. Yes, even British actors can play Southern characters.
Fast Charlie was also James Caan's last film (may he rest in peace).
Fast Charlie is not Pierce Brosnan's typical big-budget movies, but I think it's among his best films. And it's got a killer story.
