Shock and Awe

The obsessive pursuit of high ratings and massive viewership has overshadowed journalistic integrity, and the mainstream media has been losing credibility with people on both sides of the political spectrum.

I sometimes watched All In The Family when I was a little kid. Yeah, it's not exactly a children's show, but back when I was a child, we didn't have access to the Internet as we do now, and there was limited television programming and entertainment, even on cable TV.

It wasn't until many years later that I realized Rob Reiner and "Meathead" in the TV show were the same person.

Rob Reiner is an excellent actor, appearing in numerous films, but he's also an exceptional filmmaker, making some of the most quoted classics, like The Princess Bride, This Is Spinal Tap, and, one of my all-time favorites, A Few Good Men.

Shock and Awe is an underrated film with Rob Reiner in front of and behind the camera as the director.

Shock and Awe is a docudrama about Knight Ridder journalists chasing after the story about the Bush administration lying about Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction in the 2000s, and how most of the mainstream media went along, spreading the lies.

Shock and Awe is an underdog story and is historically significant. It is shameful and alarming to see what the mainstream media has become. If you can't trust the news, then who can you trust?

Rest in peace, Rob Reiner.
