Before The Mandalorian, 24 was my favorite TV series. I was always delighted to see some of my favorite actors be special guest stars on the show, like Peter Weller and Lou Diamond Phillips. I especially got a kick out of seeing Michael Madsen in Season 8 of 24.
Michael Madsen is the older brother of Virginia Madsen (Dune, The Rainmaker) and usually plays "cool dude" characters. He's best known for playing Mr. Blonde in Reservoir Dogs, but another film I remember him in was Species from 1995.
Alien and Aliens have inspired numerous sci-fi monster films, like Mimic and The Relic. But Species features a creature that was designed by H.R. Giger, who created the original creature monster in Alien.
Species is pretty gruesome, and I'm generally not a huge fan of the horror genre, especially when the movie is very gory. Still, Species has an intriguing story about extraterrestrial life, and the cast includes Ben Kingsley, Forest Whitaker, Natasha Henstridge in her breakout role, and a very young Michelle Williams. Species has been popular enough to have spawned several sequels, and Michael Madsen, in my opinion, helped carry the first film.
