BASEketball

BASEketball is a wacky comedy directed by David Zucker (Airplane!, The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!) and starring the creators of South Park, Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The film was not written by the comedy duo, but it has the same kind of zany and controversial humor as their highly popular animated series.

BASEketball is a hybrid sport that combines elements of baseball and basketball. Released in 1998, BASEketball remains as funny as ever, and I recall laughing so hard during the hospital scene when I saw the movie for the first time. They are known for their voice acting in the South Park TV series, but Trey Parker and Matt Stone are equally adept at acting live.

As goofy as the movie is, BASEketball has a well-written story with heart and a satirical look at professional sports. BASEketball is a comedy gem and so underappreciated. Trey Parker and Matt Stone should do more live-action comedy films.
