Tom Cruise is famous for doing his own stunts, but his co-stars sometimes have gotten in on the action, too, literally.
Before they collaborated together on the Mission Impossible films, Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie--or "McQ" as Cruise likes to call him--both worked on Valkyrie and the Jack Reacher films.
Based on the novel series by Lee Child and written for the screen and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Jack Reacher is what I refer to as a "mild action movie" because, while it has a few action scenes, it's not action-packed like Cruise's other movies and is more of a mystery drama. Jack Reacher is a typical crime thriller, except it involves military personnel.
Notably, Tom Cruise and his co-star David Oyelowo impressively performed some of their own stunt driving. And this film came out in 2012.
Jack Reacher and its sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, are underrated Tom Cruise movies. Jack Reacher has become a TV series (with a different lead actor), but I wish Tom Cruise Productions would continue making more movies based on Lee Child's character.
